You’ve been in my shoes,
Standing in this place before,
It looks different now,
Maybe it’s because I’ve really been in yours,
I don’t know what to say
Because it’s always been me on the other side,
I never let it show,
Because I didn’t want you knowing
Just how much my shoes had been through.
Love, like light should be bursting at the seams, so full of life it can’t be hid, like fireflies caught by little hands, in glass jars, under a black blanket, that’s so heavy with fire, that it burns holes right through itself for the sake of another.
She was the kind of girl that made wishes on stars,
loose butterfly kisses,
and anything else she could get her hands on.
She was the kind of girl that placed hope in everything,
because too much hope was better than none,
hope in people too,
for even when her heart was broken, there was always something there to make it better.
Her logic was defied many a times,
but nonetheless she never stopped for secretly,
all along it was always herself for which she believed.
Merry Christmas Lovies! If you are reading this today it probably means that you are off hiding from family, in laws, or cooking. For any of these I understand. I’m glad you took the time to stop by and let me wish you a good holiday.
These past weeks have been crazy for me, taking school off the “to do” list should have made things easier, who would of thought?
I believe in simple. I believe in truth. I believe in love.
So yesterday was a particularly beautiful day here in Kansas and not having any work or school to do (ha!) I decided to go out and enjoy it for a few hours in the morning. There is a small wooden “play house” some might call it in our back hard, I prefer the term “fort.” This little fortress of solitude has a little roof over the top and just enough space for me to sprawl out with a pillow and a blanket, which is exactly what I did.
I took my notebook out just in case I got a giant rock of inspiration thrown at me, and my new beautiful copy of Emma by Jane Austen.
The gold rimmed pages make me so happy. Needless to say I should have left my phone inside do to the fact that whenever I choose to have “me” time, everyone else in the world gets a signal turned on in their heads that tells them that Tamela wishes to speak or see them immediately.
Then of course there’s certain beauties of nature that must be avoided…like Mosquitos, so I unfortunately had to bring the inspiration inside…which you’ll be happy to know led to a whole day of writing!
The one good thing that came from me having my phone is that I quite love the pictures I got and wanted to share with you. Happy Fall!!
So I am in the middle of writing and have come to a stand still so I decided to take a break and share a few things with you guys. I started a new project this week and though it isn’t finished yet I wanted to show you the start of it. I picked up and old picture frame at the local flea market earlier this year and have finally found a use for it; I am making a DIY Photo/Memory board.
I started off with an ugly yellow/brown around the frame so I decided to paint it something I would enjoy.
As you can see I was pretty messy with the painting, but that is only because my next step is to purchase some cork board squares, along with some printed burlap fabric to go over the top of it.
Life has been busy and yet not busy enough, I also painted an old board that I found out in our wood pile to go with the wrought iron wall hangers that I purchased. I will soon be making myself a small extra bookshelf out of the two. Pictures to come as soon as it’s on the wall, fingers crossed for soon.
I have added a few new handmade listing up on my etsy site if anyone is interested: TamTamsDesigns,
Books and Tea is all I need to keep me satisfied…
