“Don’t let the memories make you sad.” He said
But it wasn’t the memories
that made me sad,
He just didn’t understand,
The memories,
Frozen in time
Were the things that made me smile,
But the faces on the other hand,
Like ghosts sharing the room in my heart that suddenly felt so small,
this is what made me sad,
the feeling of not having enough room for the ones that were real.
This poem has a lot of meaning.

Memories are so perfectly set in our minds, pristine time/place/people, not to be changed. Faces bring emotions that make us deal with realities that we, at times, cannot or will not accept…faces make untidy ghosts.
